How to check when a SmartRecruiters job was posted
SmartRecruiters stamps each posting with a released date, which is the date the checker shows as the original posting date.
Which dates SmartRecruiters publishes
SmartRecruiters' public API returns a releasedDate. The checker shows it as "Originally posted" with an age.
The API also has an updatedOn field, but it was absent from every live SmartRecruiters payload we checked. Don't expect a "Last updated" line on these results.
If the job is closed or missing
SmartRecruiters returns the same 404 whether the company or the job is missing. The checker shows "Closed or no longer listed".
If you opened the company's own link and the job is gone, that is the expected result for a removed posting. There is no closing date to show, because SmartRecruiters doesn't supply one, so the card can say the job is gone but not when it closed.
How to spot a SmartRecruiters job
Postings live at jobs.smartrecruiters.com/{Company}/{number}, often followed by a dash and the job title as a slug. The slug is optional, because the same posting loads with or without it.
Two details are specific to this system. The apply step can redirect to a long oneclick-ui address built on a different identifier than the posting number, so copy the posting link rather than the apply screen. A careers.smartrecruiters.com link tends to redirect to the company's listing page and drop the job. Use the jobs. address.
Check a SmartRecruiters link
Paste the company's apply link into the Job Age Checker. LinkedIn and Indeed links are refused.
