How to check when an Ashby job was posted

Ashby publishes a posted date for each job. It is also the only system that reports a missing company board, and the checker shows that as "Posting date unknown" rather than closed.

Which dates Ashby publishes

Ashby's public job-board API returns a published date. The checker shows it as "Originally posted" with an age.

Ashby's schema includes an updated field, but it was missing from every live Ashby payload we checked, so Ashby results don't carry a "Last updated" line.

If the job is closed or missing

Ashby answers differently depending on what is missing. If the company's board exists but the job isn't on it, the checker shows "Closed or no longer listed".

If the company's board itself can't be found, the checker shows "Posting date unknown", not "closed". A bad board name says nothing about the job, so the checker doesn't guess. Of the five systems, only Ashby reports a missing board this way.

Ashby supplies no closing date, so a job that is still on the board shows its original posting date and an active status, with nothing about when it will close.

How to spot an Ashby job

Ashby postings live at jobs.ashbyhq.com/{company}/{id}, where the id is a UUID. The application form adds /application to the end.

Ashby application pages are script-rendered, so the page itself has almost nothing to read. The checker uses Ashby's API instead.

Check an Ashby link

Paste the company's apply link into the Job Age Checker. The link ending in /application works as well as the plain posting link. Don't paste LinkedIn or Indeed links.

Paste the link from the company's careers site or its hiring system (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, SmartRecruiters, Workday).
