How to check when a Lever job was posted

Lever records a created date for each posting, and the checker reads it as the original posting date.

Which dates Lever publishes

Lever's public API returns a created date as a timestamp. The checker converts it and shows it as "Originally posted" with an age.

That created date survives edits, which makes it a dependable anchor for how long a role has been listed.

The API also has an updated field in its schema, but it was absent from every live Lever posting we checked. The checker doesn't promise a "Last updated" date for Lever jobs.

If the job is closed or missing

Lever answers a missing company board and a missing job with the same 404. The checker can't separate the two, so it shows "Closed or no longer listed". If you get that result for a job you think is open, check the company name in the link for typos.

Lever doesn't supply a closing date either, so the checker can tell you a Lever job is gone but not when it closed.

How to spot a Lever job

Lever postings live at jobs.lever.co/{company}/{id}, where the id is a long string of letters, numbers and dashes. The application page adds /apply to the end of the same address.

The checker reads the posting with a single request to Lever's data and skips the application page.

Check a Lever link

Paste the company's apply link into the Job Age Checker. A Lever link with or without /apply at the end points to the same posting. LinkedIn and Indeed links are refused.

Paste the link from the company's careers site or its hiring system (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, SmartRecruiters, Workday).
